2390 XEJN MEXICO VER Huayacocotla - Late December 2004 1700 - "Radio Huayacocotla" -- For several days in a row I was able to take the DX-398 out into the woods after work and hook up a 200 foot wire. This station came in pretty well till sign off at 6:00 pm MST. [Audio clip #1] has them giving full legal ID at 1700, including call letters, phone number, address, etc. [Audio clip #2] has them IDing as Radio Lacaxcajak (which is what they call themselves when broadcasting in the Tepehua language) at signoff time, followed by children singing the Mexican National Anthem - cute!. 500 Watts. Update -- According to this blog post, as of Feb 14, 2005, the station moved to FM and it's shortwave antenna has been dismantled. (/) (New - #7, Country #6, Mexico #1, VER)

3290 GUYANA Sparendaam - 19 Nov 2004 0305 - "Voice of Guyana" - With country blues music. BBC World Service news at 0400. Heavy RTTY QRM. (DX-398 + 200' wire) (/) (New - #6, Country #5)

3280 HCVN7 ECUADOR Tena - 19 Nov 2004 0237 - "La Voz de Napo" - Jewish-sounding music in SS, string of ads, more music. ID at 0300, clear mention of Napo. (DX-398 + 200' wire) (/) (New - #5, Country #4)

3250 HRPC HONDURAS San Luís - 19 Nov 2004 0357 - "Radio Luz y Vida" - with some religious monolougue, then ID and sign-off announcement. National Anthem then carrier dropped at 0400. 1 kW (WRTH-99) DX-398 + 25' wire. (/) (New - #2, Country #2)

4780 TGLT GUATEMALA San Sebastián Coatán - 19 Nov 2004 0245 - "Radio Coatán" - With mexican sounding music (accordians...), then full ID and sign-off announcements. No national anthem before dropping carrier at 0245. 1kW (WRTH-99) DX-398 + 25' wire. (/) (New - #1, Country #1)
